Ministry of Health Holds Fourth Quarter 2011 Surveillance Review Meeting

The Directorate of Disease Prevention and Control (DPC) in the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS) held its 4th quarter 2011 disease surveillance review meeting from 20-21 January 2012. The meeting examined the status of surveillance activities in the country for the period under review and set agenda for the first quarter of 2012.

Every quarter of the year, DPC, the laboratory and districts disease surveillance officers from the 14 health districts meet to discuss the performance of disease surveillance activities including, verification and harmonization of surveillance data from the districts and review achievements, challenges and gaps of surveillance activities. The meetings, which are financially supported by WHO, provide opportunities for District Surveillance Officers to share experiences, to be updated on current disease surveillance issues and get feedback.
